TIME TO EXHIBIT AGAIN! - My New Upcoming Exhibition 68°N 6MM in Düsseldorf

I have some wonderful news that I can finally share with you today: My second photo exhibition here in Düsseldorf is just around the corner!

The analog photo lab Optik Oldschool is hosting the exhibition "BEYOND FILM" at the Bilker Bunker and I am incredibly excited to be a part of it with my work.

In early 2026, I traveled to the edge of the world - the Lofoten Islands.

The goal of my journey was to document the Female Gaze and female surfers in the Arctic surf and to listen to their stories. Among other things, this intense time resulted in the analog series that I am now presenting.

The Arctic forces you as a surfer to strip away everything superfluous. At 68°N 6MM, the conditions are as relentless as they are beautiful. They demand not only mental strength but also equipment that functions at the absolute limit. My project "68°N 6mm" is a visual and emotional exploration of the "Female Gaze" in one of the harshest places on earth.

In traditional sports photography, the female body is often staged through a lens of adrenaline or objectification. I chose a different path: documenting the quiet strength and raw presence of female surfers. My focus was not on the staged body, but on the presence of being.

During conversations with the women in the lineup, a thought emerged that moved me deeply: "I felt small among all these men, not because of how they acted, but because of how I let myself feel."

Through the Female Gaze, I use my camera to seek the path from this "feeling small" toward belonging.

Empowerment in the Arctic is found in perseverance, in showing up "over and over again" until gender-specific expectations sink into the white foam of the surf. For me, the Female Gaze is about the dignity of the person in front of the lens.
